The Charity Rubber Bridge Competition has been
won by Jessie Newton & John Turner who just
beat Betty Humphreys and Colin Clark, coming from
behind on the last board.
At the Cheltenham Congress Dick & Jane
Rutter have won the Cleverly Cup in the Pairs B
Final, having just missed out in the Mixed Pairs
by finishing second. Pam Pearce and Susan Sharp
won the Whitbread Trophy in the Ladies Pairs.
At the Scottish Overseas Congress in Portugal
Sue Lane & Tony Gervis won the Mixed Pairs.
The Committee has agreed to make a small
change to the scoring method used in the Pairs
Ladder. Instead of using the Butler method we
will use average cross-imps. In this method each
score is IMPed against all the other scores on
the board and the average of these used to
determine a pair's score on the board.
In the last County Match of the season against
Oxfordshire the 1st Team drew 10-10, the 2nd Team
won 11-9 and the 3rd Team lost 9-11.
The Chairman's Cup has been won by Rosie
Carter & Dorothy Robinson, closely followed
by Phil Spavin & Graeme Routledge. Full Results
The Phillipps Final was won by Sue Lane &
Paul Hammond whilst the Phillipps Consolation was
won by Chris Enticknap & Barry Sayers.
In the County Match against Warwickshire the
1st team lost 0-20, the 2nd team lost 9-11 and
the 3rd team won 11-9.
The Committee are looking for somebody to run
the host rota, preferably someone who makes use
of it and so has an interest in it being
continued. The current rota runs until the end of
April and if no-one has taken it over by then we
will be looking at an alternative method of
matching up players who want a game but do not
have a partner.
The WCBA Veterans Pairs has been won by
Georgina & Ian Lineker. Full Results.

was won by Worcester A ( Mike Theelke, David
Thomas, Ross Garratt, Mel Downing, John Sansom,
Richard Jephcott, Nick Forward & Steve

It is now looking unlikely that we will return
to the Droitwich Working Men's Club although the
original issue has been resolved. The WCBA
Committee has arranged for us to carry on playing
at the Droitwich Rugby Club, Hanbury Road,
